Print Bid Number: 2024-07 Bid Title: Asbestos Abatement and Demolition of Structures and Restoration of Land Category: Miscellaneous Status: Closed Bid Recipient: Finance Director, City of Morgantown Description: Separate, sealed bids for Multiple Demolitions will be received by the City of Morgantown, West Virginia, at the office of the Finance Director in the City Municipal Building at 389 Spruce Street, Morgantown, WV 26505 until 2:00pm, July 18, 2024, at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. This advertisement does NOT imply permission or authority to enter the property. On July 8, 2024, upon request, bidders will be provided an opportunity to access the properties for assessment only after the optional Pre-Bid Meeting on July 8, 2024 at 10:00am. The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is City of Morgantown Development Services Department, 430 Spruce Street, 304-284-7431. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Mondays through Thursdays between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. or on our website http://morgantownwv.gov/bids.aspx  ; and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below. Printed copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office, during the hours indicated above, upon payment of a non-refundable fee of $50.00 for each set. Checks for Bidding Documents shall be payable to “City of Morgantown.” Upon request and receipt of the document fee indicated above plus a non-refundable shipping charge, the Issuing Office will transmit the Bidding Documents via delivery service. The shipping charge amount will depend on the shipping method selected by the prospective Bidder. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. A two-envelope system will be used. Each bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope. Envelope No. 1 must contain the Bid Bond, Certification of Compliance, Power of Attorney, and all other necessary documents required on the Bid Opening Checklist. Envelope No. 2 must be a separate, sealed envelope marked "Bid Proposal" and must contain the completed and signed Bid Proposal. Both envelopes must have the following information in the lower left hand corner. Name and address of Bidder, Bidder's WV Contractor's License Number, Bid Call 2024-07 “Asbestos Abatement and Demolition” City of Morgantown, 389 Spruce Street, Morgantown, Monongalia County, West Virginia 26505. To be opened on July 18, 2024. The main envelope "Envelope No. 1" will be opened first and the Bid Bond, Power of Attorney, Certificates of Compliance and other pertinent and required documents as listed on the Bid Opening Checklist will be checked to ensure that all documents are in order. If the documents are found to be in order, the "Envelope No. 2" containing the Bid Proposal will then be opened and publicly read aloud. If the documents are not in order, the envelope containing the Bid Proposal will not be opened and the Bid will be considered non-responsive and will be returned to the Bidder. A bidder may not modify or withdraw his/her Bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening of bids. Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond or certified cashier’s check payable to the City of Morgantown in an amount equal to five (5%) of the base bid. All bidders must hold a current West Virginia contractor’s license on the date of the Bid Opening. Bids received after the scheduled closing time for the reception of bids will be returned unopened to the bidders. The City of Morgantown reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities. Please see bid packet for all details.
