Print Bid Number: 12-11 Bid Title: Budget Offices Interior Alterations in the Kalana O Maui Building Category: Construction - All Construction Status: Closed Description: NOTICE TO BIDDERS PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 103D, HRS, SEALED BIDS for BUDGET OFFICES INTERIOR ALTERATIONS IN THE KALANA O MAUI BUILDING, JOB NO. 12-11, shall be received and time stamped by the Bid Receiver, Purchasing Division, Department of Finance, 2145 Wells Street, Suite 104, Wailuku, Hawaii 96793 up to 2:00 o’clock P.M. on THURSDAY, JULY 28, 2011 at which time and place the sealed proposals will be publicly opened and read. The work generally consists of demolition of existing walls, ceiling tile, and carpet flooring. Includes re-configuring and connecting to existing air conditioning ducts, new lighting, new carpet tile flooring and base, and painting of interior walls. A compact disc containing the plans, specifications, and proposal may be obtained at the Division of Purchasing, Department of Finance, located in the Wells Street Professional Building, 2145 Wells Street, Suite 104, Wailuku, Hawaii 96793. For requests outside of the island of Maui, please call (808) 249-2403. Bids shall be submitted in a sealed envelope, and shall be on the Proposal Form provided on the compact disc furnished by said Department. Bids received after the established due date and time will not be considered. The Hawaii Products Preference pursuant to Act 175, SLH 2009 is applicable to this project. Persons wishing to certify and qualify a product as a Hawaii Product shall submit a Certification for Hawaii Product Preference (SPO form 38) for each product to Purchasing Division no later than July 18, 2011, 10 days before bid opening. Late submittals for this solicitation will not be reviewed by the County. Contractors are hereby notified of the applicability of Section 11-205.5, HRS, which states that campaign contributions are prohibited from specified State or county government contractors during the term of the contract if the contractors are paid with funds appropriated by the legislative body. The County of Maui, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252) and the Regulations of the U.S. Department of Transportation (Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations Part 21) issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that the contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder without discrimination on the grounds of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, or disability. The Equal Employment Opportunity Regulations of the Secretary of Labor implementing Executive Order 11246, as amended shall be complied with on this project. Each proposal shall be on a form furnished by the Department of Public Works, County of Maui. The proposal guaranty shall be equal to at least five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid submitted. Estimated construction cost is between $40,000 to $80,000.
