<p><strong>Project Description and Information </strong></p><p>The City of Winter Haven is undertaking a hardening project for Fire Station #2 to enhance the facility’s resilience against severe weather events and ensure continued emergency response services to the community. This project is partially funded through a Community Development Block Grant – Mitigation (CDBG-MIT), as outlined in the Federal Register Notice (84 FR 45838, dated August 30, 2019). Funding has been awarded by the Florida Department of Commerce through an Infrastructure Hardening Grant Agreement. </p><p> </p><p>The planned improvements will strengthen the fire station’s structural integrity, increase operational reliability during adverse conditions, and improve the safety of personnel and the public. A detailed scope of work is included below. </p><p> </p><p>This project aligns with Florida Commerce’s initiative to improve critical infrastructure and has completed the required Environmental Review. </p><p> </p><p><strong>Project Location </strong></p><p>The project location incorporating hardening improvements is 4700 Lucerne Park Road, located on the north side of Lucerne Park Rd across from Lake Fannie. While there are specific design plans for this project, they may not preclude additional work to tie-in the project with adjacent or nearby public/private parcels or rights of way. Any additional work not included in the plans may be contingent on acceptance of change order agreements. </p><p> </p><p>Due to grant deadlines, the project must achieve full completion in 150 days from the issuance of the notice to proceed and will have liquidated damages of $1,000 per day that may go into effect after that date.
