The City is seeking firms whose combination of experience and expertise will provide timely, professional services to the City. The City reserves the right to enter into one or more contracts with any firm selected under this RFQ process. A mandatory pre-submission meeting will be held August 17, 2022, 11:00 am. Interested firms should meet at the north end of the parking lot of the Morgantown Ice Arena, located at 1001 Mississippi Street, Morgantown, WV, 26501. Statement of Qualifications must be received at the City Manager’s Office, City of Morgantown, 430 Spruce Street, Morgantown, WV 26505, by August 31, 2022 by 4:00 p.m. The selected Firm shall provide planning and design services for Cobun Creek Reservoir Pedestrian Bridge Project. This project will provide a new bicycle and pedestrian connection across Cobun Creek near the reservoir in White Park, connecting the Mississippi Street side trails to the new South Side Trails. The project will complete connectivity in the park and provide pedestrians and bicyclists direct access across the reservoir. Maps of the area are provided in Exhibit 1. The new bridge will cross Cobun Creek just upstream of the reservoir. The project will tie into transition trail work designed by the trail design firm. The bridge is expected to be a signature/iconic landmark in White Park while being cost effective. The Firm will integrate aesthetic features (playing on the natural environment) into the design that serve these goals. Items anticipated in the scope of this project include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following: project planning/scoping, H&H study, consensus building for aesthetics, public engagement, survey, geotechnical, detailed design, all permitting clearances, construction bid and specification document preparation, and construction administration.
