Description

We invite you to review and provide submissions on Request for Information (RFI) #SGC25009. The California Strategic Growth Council (SGC) is seeking responses from potential partners, including technical assistance providers and Tribal serving organizations, regarding the technical assistance (TA) for the Tribal Capacity Building Program's upcoming Round 2 and broad Tribal engagement across SGC programs. The Tribal Capacity Building Program is a grant program that provides funding and technical assistance to California Native American Tribes, enhancing staff capacity to advance Tribes climate- and housing-related work. The goal of the program is to help Tribes develop long-term capacity to secure funding and implement Tribal-led climate and housing-related projects. The Tribal Capacity Building Program will provide direct grants to Tribes to fund staff salaries and activities that include planning, securing funding for, and implementing housing projects and related efforts to advance climate mitigation, adaptation, and resilience. This RFI will potentially lead to a formal solicitation which will result in the awarded TA provider to work with 12 Tribes over a three-year grant period. This role will involve evaluating capacity-building needs, developing individualized plans, and providing no-cost, flexible support that responds to each Tribe's needs and helps Tribes advance their climate- and housing-related work. This contract will also extend to broader Tribal engagement across multiple SGC programs, ensuring Tribes are informed about various funding opportunities and facilitating streamlined access to state resources. More information on the Tribal Capacity Building Program can be found at https://sgc.ca.gov/grant-programs/tribal. We welcome your feedback and any concerns you may have in response to this RFI. Please send your questions and responses electronically to Contracts@lci.ca.gov.
