Print Bid Title: Call to Artists - Request for Qualifications - Garden Street Project Category: RFPs Status: Closed Description: Please take notice that the City of South Burlington has issued a request for qualifications for the purpose of commissioning art for a new pocket park to be constructed in 2027 or 2028 from a qualified artist. SUMMARY The City is seeking to commission an artist to deliver and install a new, original, permanent and site-specific piece of art (“the project”). The art will be part of the Williston Road Streetscape and Garden Street Projects located on Williston Road as part of the intersection reconstruction. The site identified for art is a piece of land on the northwest corner of the new intersection. This land is planned as a public pocket park-like amenity. The project will be completed in time for the opening of the intersection to the public, a date which is currently undefined. Artists from Vermont are strongly encouraged to apply. The project budget is $75,000: the selected artist budget is approximately $72,000 with the remaining going to finalist honoraria. The budget is inclusive of all artist’s fees and associated expenses for design, engineering, fabrication, insurance, transportation, and installation. Finalists receive an honorarium of $700 for participation second phase of the selection process.
