Print Bid Number: 2024-031 Bid Title: Landfill Leachate Services Category: Landfill Bids Status: Awarded Description: SPECIFICATIONS FOR LANDFILL LEACHATE HAULING SERVICES Contract shall run from January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025, or until the completion of the Leachate Force Main project that is currently underway. If needed, and if both parties agree, there shall be an option for a one-year extension to the contract. Contractor will provide hauling services of landfill leachate (leachate) from the Brookings Regional Landfill located at 4101 30 th Street, Brookings, SD 57006 to the Brooking Municipal Utilities (BMU) Wastewater Treatment Plant, located at 21660 470 th Avenue, Brookings, SD 57006. Hauling services consist of: pumping of leachate from the landfill holding tanks and transporting/disposing the leachate at the BMU Wastewater Treatment Plant. Note: Contractor will be required to acquire a hauling permit from BMU. Hauling of leachate is restricted to scheduled landfill operational hours and Brookings Municipal Utilities acceptance policies and operational hours. The operational hours of the Landfill and Wastewater Treatment Plant are published on the organization’s webpage. Contractor will coordinate with landfill staff to access the landfill leachate tanks for collection of leachate. Price decreases are acceptable on invoice(s) presented for payment. Invoices shall be submitted on a monthly basis to the City of Brookings, Public Works - Landfill Division, 4101 30 th Street, Brookings, SD 57006 The City does not guarantee the procurement of any minimum amount of services during the purchase order period. The City reserves the right to terminate the purchase order in accordance with either of the following: Circumstances such as termination of public funds dedicated to this purchase order. A written notice will be provided by the City to the contractor at least ten (10) days prior to such proposed termination date. In the event a contractor fails to perform services as requested. If the contractor’s business or firm transfers ownership during the term of the purchase order, the City must be notified at least thirty (30) days prior to the transfer. Qualifications: Bidders are required to hold all applicable South Dakota tax licenses. By virtue of Statutory Authority, preference will be given to materials, products and supplies found or procured within the State of South Dakota. Special Requirements: All bids must be signed and submitted in a sealed envelope and shall state on the left hand corner of the envelope “BID FOR LANDFILL LEACHATE HAULING SERVICES.” Any bids received after the deadline will not be accepted. Miscellaneous: No bids may be withdrawn after the time set for the opening of bids. Action on the bids will occur within 45 days of the bid opening. The City of Brookings reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any and all bids.
