Print Bid Title: RFP Removal of Asbestos Containing Materials / Building Demolition Category: Town Manager Status: Closed Description: The Town of Milton, Vermont invites qualified asbestos abatement contractors to provide a bid package for proper removal of asbestos containing materials by building demolition (live load) from designated portions of the Former Milton Creamery, 25 Railroad Street, Milton, Vermont. A mandatory on-site pre-bid conference will be held at 25 Railroad Street, Milton, Vermont on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 11:00 am. At that time design/bid documents will be available. Bids shall be submitted to: Town Manager’s Office, Town of Milton, Vermont 43 Bombardier Rd. Milton, Vermont 05468 Bids will be due on or before 3:00 pm, Friday, September 6, 2024, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. The Town intends to complete the project during Fall 2024. Designated portions of the building to be demolished are structurally unsound. They also contain asbestos containing materials throughout. These ACM's cannot be safely removed using traditional abatement methods. Therefore, asbestos abatement will be accomplished by surgical demolition and all demolition debris will be considered asbestos waste. Consequently, the selected contractor shall be a Vermont licensed asbestos abatement contractor. Excavation contractors who are not licensed to perform asbestos abatement projects are welcome to team with interested asbestos abatement contractors. The Town of Milton, Vermont reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to accept or reject any part of any bid, to waive any or all informalities of any bid, and to accept the bid that appears to be in the best interest of Owner.
