This Project is anticipated to be completed using bond proceeds and is expected to begin construction Fall of 2022. The building is expected to be occupied during construction. The Public Safety Building (PSB) is a government services building in downtown Morgantown and was built in 1991. The building serves as office, training, court, and meeting space for City of Morgantown Police Department, Police Records and Dispatch, Fire Department Administration, Parking Authority, and Municipal Court. The building consists of a basement, 1 st floor, and 2 nd floor, and is connected to the adjacent parking garage structure. It houses a courtroom, which serves as the primary location for municipal court hearings, ancillary police services, and has an area for prisoner holding. Recent improvements completed on the Public Safety Building include HVAC/VAV box improvements, select area interior renovation, and removal of a rooftop generator.
