Print Bid Title: City Hall Renovations Category: Construction Status: Closed Description: SECTION 001113 – ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Notice is hereby given that the City of Morgantown will accept sealed bids for the CITY HALL RENOVATIONS project, located at 389 Spruce Street, Morgantown, West Virginia. The project involves the repair and/or replacement of historic windows, reconstruction of a masonry parapet wall, selective demolition of interior systems, partitions, and finishes, installation of new HVAC systems, modification of existing plumbing and electrical systems, and the installation of new partitions and finishes. The building will be vacant during the project, and the vehicle lane closest to City Hall will be closed for the duration of the project. Sealed bids will be received by the City of Morgantown on or before 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 4th, 2022. Sealed bids must be delivered to the (temporary) Morgantown City Hall, City Manager’s Office, 430 Spruce Street, Morgantown, West Virginia. At that time all sealed bids will be opened and read aloud. Interested parties are invited to attend the bid opening. Any bids received after the deadline will not be accepted. Prospective bidders may purchase copies of Bidding Documents (hard copy documents) from the Architect. Digital files (in PDF format) will be provided free of charge to all General Contractors who attend the pre-bid meeting. Cost of Bidding Documents is $175 per set, plus any shipping and handling fees. These are non-refundable fees. Thursday, September 15th, 2022. at the project site located at 389 Spruce Street., Morgantown, West Virginia. ATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED. The meeting will include reviewing the drawings and the project site. A certified check or bank draft, payable to City of Morgantown, or satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and acceptable sureties in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the base bid must be submitted with each bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory performance and payment bonds signed by a West Virginia agent. The City of Morgantown will negotiate with the contractor to determine the method of contract security best suited for the project. Bids must be made on a lump sum basis. Neither US Department of Labor Wage Rates, nor West Virginia Division of Labor Wage Rates apply to this project. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days after the time of bid opening without the consent of the Owner.
