Print Bid Title: Passy Rail Trail Track Removal Project Category: City Manager Status: Closed Description: CITY OF BELFAST, MAINE PASSY RAIL TRAIL TRACK REMOVAL PROJECT INVITATION TO BID The City of Belfast is inviting proposals for a contract at the City Clerk’s office located at 131 Church Street, Belfast, Maine 04915 for the Passy Rail Trail Track Removal project. This project mainly consists of the removal of approximately 2.1 miles of railroad track including steel rail and wood cross ties along a City owned corridor in Belfast, Maine. Complete sets of Bidding Documents may be obtained at the Clerk’s Office upon payment of non-refundable Twenty Dollars ($20.00) per set. Bidding Documents will be mailed to bidders for an additional non-refundable mailing fee of Five Dollars ($5.00) per set. Checks are to be made payable to the City of Belfast. The Contract Documents may be examined at the following locations: 1. Belfast City Hall, City Clerk’s Office, 131 Church Street, Belfast, ME 04915 2. Construction Summary of Maine, c/o Cross Insurance, 2331 Congress Street, Portland, ME 04101. 3. Associated Contractors of Maine, Inc., Whitten Road, Augusta, ME 04330 Each bid must be accompanied by BID SECURITY, payable to the City of Belfast, in the amount of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00), which BID SECURITY must be in a form acceptable to the City. A Performance/Payment Security in the amount of $70,000, or in such lesser amounts as the City of Belfast shall, at its sole option require, in a form acceptable to the City of Belfast shall be required to guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the payment of all labor and materials used in the work. Level of Contractor qualifications and experience on similar work may be considered cause for acceptance or rejection of any or all bids. A completed Bid Form, Experience and Qualifications Statement and Bid Security must be submitted with the Bid. See the General Provisions for additional requirements. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive any technical or legal deficiencies, and to accept any Bid that it may deem to be in the best interests of the Owner. Each bid shall be submitted on the Bid Form supplied by the City of Belfast in a sealed envelope clearly identified with the Bidder's name and address marked. Bids will be received at the City Clerk’s office, 131 Church Street, Belfast, Maine 04915 by 2:00 P.M. on August 6, 2014 . Shortly thereafter, bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in any available office or conference room in City Hall.
