This Project is anticipated to be completed using bond proceeds and is expected to begin construction Summer of 2022. The building is expected to be occupied during construction. Norwood Fire Station sits in the Sabraton neighborhood and was built in 1956. There was an addition in 2002. The Norwood Fire Station includes 4 garage bays, a kitchen, a bunk room that sleeps 4, and one restroom that has 3 fixtures, 3 sinks, and a common shower room. The building is all one level. Recent repairs include a new roof. Interested firms or individual firms must attend a mandatory pre-submission walkthrough conference at 3:00 p.m. on December 1, 2021 at Norwood Fire Station, located at 2 Hillcrest Street, Morgantown, WV, 26505. The Architecture and/or Engineering Firm selected will be required to provide advice, alternatives, and design for the following improvements: Evaluation of building improvement needs and options. Coordination with Fire Department. Coordinate with utility companies as needed. Designing improvements within available budgets. Developing a construction timeline. Preparation of construction drawings and specifications Preparation of preliminary construction cost estimates. Preparation of final budget cost estimates for the improvements. Preparation of bidding documents for the work. Administration services during the construction phase. Inspection services during the construction stage.
