Print Bid Title: Request for Proposals: Driveway Replacement - West Driveway at Greenwood Cemetery Category: Current Bids & RFPs Status: Closed Description: Request for Proposals Driveway Replacement - West Driveway at Greenwood Cemetery The City of Wayne is accepting proposals for concrete removal and replacement of the west driveway of the cemetery located in the northwest part of the city. Proposals will be received until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, and likely be awarded at the Wayne City Council meeting on March 16, 2021 . Proposals may be mailed to the City of Wayne, Attn: Betty McGuire, City Clerk, PO Box 8, Wayne, NE 68787; submitted in person at the city offices located at 306 Pearl Street; or, emailed to . The City desires contractors to propose the cost to complete the work as described below as well as a schedule to complete the work. The City would like to see the amount of time the driveway is not open to traffic limited. The contractor shall have the right to all removed concrete. The City will pay for all subgrade and concrete testing. The City will evaluate each proposal for cost and timing. The photo below of the site shows the approximate location of the driveway, which is also Outlot A. A site visit prior to submittal is highly encouraged so contractors themselves can evaluate the area. The area allowed to work is limited to 28 feet in width to avoid damage to headstones. All trees must be protected from damage by equipment. Work Items to include: Saw existing driveway for 61 linear feet. Remove 1,316.33 square yards of existing driveway with approximate depth of 5 inches. Subgrade shall be compacted to 95% of Standard Proctor Density. Paving will be 7 inches thick, 1,121 feet long, and 10 feet wide. Mix shall be 47B with a minimum strength of 3,500 psi. Paving shall be completed full width using a slip form paver and be in no more than 2 continuous pours. Contractor shall attempt to match existing grades to limit the amount of dirt work required and shall coordinate with City staff prior to construction. There will be no curb on the new driveway. End of any paving will include 1" of expansion material and the contractor will be responsible for sawing joints every 10 feet. Contractor will grade shoulders as directed by City staff. Any extra dirt may be left on site at the north end of the project. Work to begin any time after June 1, 2021 and must be completed by September 1, 2021. Proof of $1,000,000 in liability insurance coverage (naming the City as an additional insured and waiving subrogation requirements) will be required before awarded contractor begins work. The City of Wayne reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.
