Print Bid Title: Municipal Solid Waste Transfer Station-rebid Category: Bids/RFPs Status: Closed Description: Notice to Bidders: Sealed bids for the construction of the City of Columbus (City) Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Transfer Station will be received by the City of Columbus office of its City Clerk at 2424 14th Street (City Hall), Columbus, Nebraska 68601 until 2:00 PM local time, on the 7th day of February, 2014, at which time the bids will be opened publicly and read aloud in the City Council Chambers, 1369 25th Avenue, Columbus, NE. (This is a rebid of the same Columbus MSW Transfer Station project advertised on November 19, 2013 due December 18, 2013.) GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK This Work includes the construction of a Transfer Station Building with administration offices and scale house involving: General site preparation, drainage, grading, and erosion control; concrete pavement, construction of watermain, water services and sanitary sewer lines and appurtenances; retaining wall construction; construction /installation of truck scales; structural, architectural, mechanical, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, electrical, and miscellaneous related work; site lighting and miscellaneous electrical work; and other associated work and services. TYPE OF BID Bid shall be on a firm lump sum and unit price basis for respective bid items identified in the Bid Form. DOCUMENT EXAMINATION AND PROCUREMENTS The Bidding and Contract Documents may be examined at the following locations: Department of Public Works 2424 14th Street 4th Floor City Hall, Second Floor Columbus, Nebraska 68601 or HDR Engineering, Inc. 8404 Indian Hills Drive Omaha, Nebraska 68114 Copies of the Bidding and Contract Documents may be purchased from the Issuing Office which is as follows: City of Columbus Department of Public Works 2424 14th Street (City Hall) Columbus, Nebraska 68601 Telephone: (402) 562-4260 The cost of Bidding and Contract Documents is: $50 for full size documents. The cost of the Documents does not include Shipping; a faster delivery of the Documents is at the Bidders expense. No partial sets of Specifications or Drawings will be issued. No electronic sets of Specifications or Drawings will be issued. Refund Policy: No refund for any Bidding and Contract Documents will be made. BID SECURITY Each Bid shall be accompanied by bid security as described in Specification Section 00100 - INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS. CONTRACT SECURITY The successful BIDDER will be required to furnish Performance and Payment Bonds as described in Section 00700 - GENERAL CONDITIONS. PREBID CONFERENCE No prebid conference will be held. CONTRACT TIME The Contract Time is defined in Section 00700 - GENERAL CONDITIONS, and specified in Specification Section 00500 - AGREEMENT. QUALIFICATION OF BIDDERS Requirements concerning the qualifications of BIDDERS are described in Section Specification 00100 - INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS. OWNER'S RIGHT TO REJECT BIDS The City of Columbus reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject bids.
