Print Bid Title: Sunnyview Park Art Mural Category: Current Bids & RFPs Status: Closed Description: REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS PUBLIC MURAL - SUNNYVIEW PARK Wayne America, Inc. is seeking proposals from experienced and creative artists or artist teams to design and execute a public mural at Sunnyview Park. This project aims to enhance the park's beauty while reflecting the community's connection to nature and the meaning behind the park's name, "Sunny View." Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme in a way that captures the park's sunny atmosphere, scenic views, and the community's warmth. The chosen mural will be a display of a vibrant and welcoming environment for visitors and residents. Site Information Sunnyview Park is located in Wayne, Nebraska. Photos of the park's landscape and surroundings will be provided to artists as part of this RFP package, to offer context for the mural placement. The selected mural will be installed at 1200 Providence Rd., measuring approximately 636 sq. ft. The artwork will be present on all four of the exterior building walls. Artists should take into consideration the durability of materials in outdoor environments and ensure the mural complements the natural surroundings of the park. Theme and Concept The general theme of the mural should revolve around the park's name, "Sunnyview." Key ideas to explore might include: Sunshine and light Scenic views and natural beauty Community gathering and outdoor enjoyment Themes of warmth, growth and optimism While this theme is central, we encourage artists to propose creative interpretations that reflect Wayne's unique identity and the park's spirit. Budget The total budget for the mural project is $10,000 , which must cover all expenses related to the design, materials, artist fees, labor, transportation, installation, and any necessary permits or insurance. Submission Requirements Artists interested in this project are requested to submit the following: Artist Statement and Biography: Include a brief statement about your approach to public art and how your work aligns with the theme of the project. Provide a short bio, including experience with murals or similar large-scale public art projects. Concept Proposal: Describe your initial concept for the mural, including a rough sketch or visual representation of the design. Please explain how your design reflects the theme and integrates with the landscape of Sunnview Park. Budget Breakdown: Rough outline or initial estimates of how the $10,000 budget will be allocated, covering design, materials and execution. Selection Criteria: Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria: Artistic quality and originality of the design Relevance to the theme and integration with the park's landscape Feasibility of the proposed budget and timeline Artist's experience and ability to execute a project of this scale Demonstrated ability to work within a public setting and engage with the community Submission Deadline All proposal materials must be submitted by September 25, 2024 by email to Brayden Sharp, Marketing & Tourism Coordinator ( ).
