Rehabilitation of the existing Stormwater Management Pond #3 located on private open space in the Middle Run Subdivision. Work will include pond excavation to remove sedimentation, installation of a new outfall structure and pipe, installation of a riprap forebay, and minor slope reinforcement in accordance with the contract specifications and drawings. Bids addressed to the New Castle County Purchasing Division will be received by the Purchasing Division, New Castle County Government Center, 87 Reads Way, New Castle, DE, 19720, telephone (302) 395-5250 until 2:00 p.m. July 29, 2014, when they will be opened and read publicly. Bid envelopes shall carry a clear notation “Rehabilitation of the Middle Run Crossing Stormwater Management Pond #3” Project No.: 291305. Plans and Specifications may be obtained in the William J. Conner Building, 187-A Old Churchmans Road, Room 059, New Castle, DE, 19720, telephone (302) 395-5749, on and after June 10, 2014, upon payment of $25.00 (non-refundable). Bids shall be accompanied by a bidder’s bond or certified check in an amount equal to 10 percent of the bid price, payable to New Castle County and conditioned to be forfeited to said County for failure to enter into a contract, if awarded. Awards, if any, will be made to the lowest and best responsible bidder. The County reserves the right to reject all bids and to waive minor irregularities. The successful Bidder will be required to give bond of a surety company, acceptable to the County, and licensed to do business in the State of Delaware, in the amount of the contract price. PREBID MEETING There will be pre-bid meeting at 9:00 a.m. on June 11, 2014 in the General Meeting Room of the William J. Conner Building, 187-A Old Churchmans Rd., New Castle, DE. CONTRACTORS RESPONSIBILITY CERTIFICATION Contractors proposing to submit a bid to New Castle County for a Special Services Contract expected to exceed $100,000. are required to complete and submit a signed original Contractor Responsibility Certification (CRC) form. This form should be submitted as soon as possible but in all cases must be received by the New Castle County Department of Special Services, Contracts Officer no later than the advertised deadline for bid submittals. Failure to submit the form by that time will result in the County’s inability to consider your bid for award. Please be advised that failure to thoroughly and accurately complete the form may also result in the County’s inability to consider your bid for award. PREQUALIFICATION New Castle County will only accept bids from contractors prequalified with the County in the category ”B” Site work. Prequalification forms are available from the Special Services department Contracts Officer in the William J. Conner Building, telephone 302-395-5749. Prequalification applications/updates for this project must be received by the Chief of Project Management, 187-A Old Churchmans Road, New Castle DE 19720 by 3:00 p.m. July 01, 2014.
