Print Bid Title: Alley Pavement Construction Category: Bid Opportunities Status: Closed Description: Notice To Contractors Sealed Bids will be received at the office of the City Clerk at 400 E Military Avenue, Fremont, Nebraska, until 9:00 A.M. on February 18, 2014 and be publicly opened and read at that time for the necessary work required for the Alley Pavement Construction(Between 5th St. & 6th St. and Platte Ave. & Logan St.)for the City of Fremont, Nebraska. The work for this project will consist of the following items: pavement removals, construction of approximately 460 S.Y. of 6" P.C.C. pavement, 228 S.F. of 4" P.C.C. sidewalk, 35 S.Y. of brick pavement reconstruction, grading, seeding, erosion control, and other miscellaneous appurtenances and improvements as shown on the Drawings and described in the Specifications and Contract Documents. All Bids for the said construction work must be made on blank forms furnished by the Engineer and shall be accompanied by a Bid Security or Certified Check, the amount of which is not less than Five (5) percent of the bid price. Bid Security shall be made payable to the Treasurer of the City of Fremont, Nebraska, and will be held by the clerk as liquidated damages in the case the bid is accepted and the Bidder neglects, or refuses, to enter into contract and furnish bonds in accordance herewith. Bid Security shall be sealed in a separate envelope from the Bid and labeled on the outside “Bid Security”. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of Bids. The Bid shall be sealed and addressed to the City Clerk, Fremont, Nebraska and labeled on the outside "Alley Pavement Construction". The Contractor, whose Bid is accepted by the City of Fremont, Nebraska, will be required to furnish a Performance, Payment and Maintenance Bond in a sum equal to one-hundred (100) percent of the contract price, for a period of two years past the completion of the project. The City Council of Fremont, Nebraska reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive informalities and technicalities, and to enter into such Contract as it may deem to be for their best interest. The Contractor shall complete the work by May 30, 2014. Liquidated Damages of five-hundred ($500) per working day will be assessed after the time for completion has expired. Drawings, Specifications, and proposed Contract Documents may be obtained from CITY OF FREMONT ENGINEERING OFFICE, 400 E Military Fremont NE 68025, for a nonrefundable deposit of $45.00.
