Print Bid Title: Request for Proposal-Engineering Services Front Street Reconstruction Project Category: Planning and Codes Status: Closed Description: REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL ENGINEERING SERVICES CITY OF BELFAST FRONT STREET RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT The City of Belfast, Maine, in conjunction with the Belfast Water District, is requesting engineering services to prepare all engineering plans and the accompanying invitation to bid documents and specifications for construction of the Front Street Reconstruction project. The section of Front Street proposed for reconstruction is about 2,300 lineal feet in length. The project includes but is not limited to: replacement of an existing sewer main; replacement of an existing water main; installation of new stormsewers; reconstruction of the existing road bed and surface; working with CMP on electrical services; and identifying options for on-street parking, pedestrian amenities, lighting and landscaping. The Request for Proposal is available on the City of Belfast website; cityofbelfast.org; reference Doing Business tab, Bids/RFP's. Completed proposals must be returned by Monday, December 22, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the following address: Wayne Marshall, City Planner, City of Belfast,131 Church St., Belfast, ME, 04915. Response to Questions on RFP Any contract or contracts awarded under the Advertisement for Bids will be funded in part by a grant from the U.S. Dept of Commerce - Economic Development Administration (EDA). The total amount of federal funding included in the project financing will be $1,900,000.00 which represents a portion of the total project costs to include design, construction, project inspection, and management of the project. Neither the United States nor any of its departments, agencies, or employees is or will be a party to this advertisement or any resulting contract. The Belfast Water District also will be using funds from the State of Maine Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to assist in paying for engineering and construction of the water line improvements. The City of Belfast reserves the right to reject any and all proposals; waive any defects, informalities and minor irregularities; to accept exceptions to these specifications; and to make such award or act otherwise as it alone may deem in its best interest.
